The Aerospace division is making significant strides to become a full system solutions provider for Aerospace customers globally.

The division covers a wide spectrum with expertise in crafting wiring harnesses for commercial jets and cruise ships, producing cabin harnesses for single-aisle aircraft, manufacturing aero-engine components, structural components, and sub-assemblies for all commercial aircraft programs.

To better serve customers both in India and overseas, the Aerospace division closely collaborates with other business divisions of Motherson and takes up greenfield and brownfield projects. Leveraging our global leadership in plastic technologies, the group specialises in developing thermoplastic parts and hybrid components. In the wiring harness segment, the division is recognised as a qualified source for machined components and sub-assemblies by major OEMs in the aerospace industry, continuously evolving to deliver cutting-edge solutions, particularly for aircraft interior components.

Certified to the highest quality management standards in the aerospace industry, the division’s key certifications include AS9100D, AS9100Rev D, and NACAP-certified unique processes and treatment facility.

Metals

Machining & Sub Assembly

The division specialises in providing top-notch metal machining and sub-assembly services to meet the diverse needs of the aerospace industry. These capabilities make Motherson the preferred supplier for mass production with automation. The group is committed to meeting customers' demand for quality and efficiency.

  • With cutting-edge technology, the division is capable of complexcomplex machining of hard metals and soft Metals with capabilities up to 6mts, as well as complex mid-size parts using flexible manufacturing systems (FMS).

Tubes & Ducts

The division’s expertise extends to fabricating tubes and ducts for the aerospace industry.

  • Complex fabrications & assembly with state-of-the-art welding capabilities. The current bending capability is up to Ø50mm across materials, with planned increases up to Ø75mm
  • NADCAP-accredited welding processes ensure that the products meet the highest quality standards in the industry.
  • Ability to industrialise 300 unique parts/year


Surface Treatment

The Aerospace division has exceptional and unique surface treatment capabilities, setting a benchmark in the industry.

  • Expertise in surface treatment has been made possible by the fully automated and semi-automated lines.
  • The processes are both NADCAP accredited and customer-approved, providing high customer assurance.

Sheet Metal

The division's sheet metal capabilities include current capabilities in routing and bending and planned expansion in stretch forming and skin rolling, which helps handle even the most complex aerospace requirements.

EWIS

Electrical Wiring & Interconnection Systems (EWIS)

The Aerospace division leverages the collective capabilities of the Motherson Group, harnessing synergies across its extensive product portfolio to deliver integrated EWIS solutions. The division manufactures wiring harnesses for aircraft interiors ranging from complex to semi-complex harnesses with multiple branches in engines, cabin interiors and vertical units.
